day 68

daily poem / poetry blog

silence

Driving through the bush at night
Mona Vale Road
Deserted ghost stretch of tar
Ghost gums silver under streetlights
Vast black sky No stars or moon
The only place you can go 90
But 90 ain’t enough
I want faster more more more
Heat fire sex lust freedom ink in my veins
Windows down Music up Wind blaring
I could put just my foot down and fly.
